Why have the prices gone up?

Nobody likes paying more for their favourite things…but the time has come to increase our prices.

We wouldn’t want to do this without being completely transparent with you, the El Camino community. The new pricing structure will come into effect from midnight on 31 January 2021. To avoid the announcement coming as an unwelcome surprise, we’re offering our customers a two-week window in which to buy any pieces (and spend any gift certificates) at the current price.

We’d also like to share with you some of the reasons behind the rise…

Our costs have gone up…El Camino customers pay exactly the same for each and every one of our products now as they did when we launched seven years ago. The decision to increase our prices is not one we’ve taken lightly but despite inflation, increased shipping costs, rent and bills, our prices haven’t increased at all until now.

We’ll never compromise on quality…Sure, we could cut corners and find a way to trim costs but we’re incredibly proud of the high-quality, durable products that go into the El Camino range. For us, this is non-negotiable.

Cheapest isn’t always best for the planet… All our packaging is now 100% plastic-free. We strongly believe in operating our business in as sustainable and environmentally friendly way as possible. Sometimes this means spending a little more to have a more positive impact.

We’ve grown… Operationally, things are a little different from that fledgeling business that rolled out the first batch of bracelets from the spare room at Tom’s parents’ home in Oxfordshire. From a partnership of two to more than twenty, we’ve continued to build an awesome team to help ensure the business is the best it can be.

Our community’s grown too…The El Camino community has been a hugely important part of that journey. Which is why we offer more for our customers now than ever before, from developing a more user-friendly website to posting blog content, social media and newsletters to help inspire future travels.
